Widget Size Options in iOS 14:

In iOS 14, Apple introduced a redesigned home screen that includes widget support. Widgets are small app-like modules that provide quick access to information or functionality from an app without needing to open the app itself. iOS 14 offers several widget size options to choose from, allowing users to customize their home screen to their preferences.

The widget size options available in iOS 14 include:

  1. Small Size: This is the smallest widget size available, typically taking up the space of four app icons in a 2x2 grid. It provides concise information or a quick glance at app data.

  2. Medium Size: The medium-sized widget occupies the space of eight app icons in a 2x4 grid. It offers a more detailed view of the app's content or additional functionality.

  3. Large Size: The large widget size is the most expansive option, spanning the width of the home screen in a 4x4 grid (or the equivalent of sixteen app icons). It provides a comprehensive view of app data or offers enhanced interactive features.

Selecting and Previewing Widgets:

To select and preview widgets before adding them to the home screen, follow these steps in iOS 14:

  1. Long-press on any empty space on your home screen until the apps start jiggling, and the icons show an "X" on the top left corner.

  2. Tap the "+" icon on the top left corner of the screen. This will open the widget gallery.

  3. Scroll through the widget options or use the search bar at the top to find a specific widget.

  4. Tap on a widget to see the available sizes and configurations. You can swipe left or right to view the different sizes or options.

  5. style="color: red; font-family: Dancing Script;">Once you find the desired widget, tap the "Add Widget" button to add it to your home screen. You can also use the "Customize Home Screen" option to further configure and personalize the widget before adding it.

Organizing Widgets on the Home Screen:

After adding a widget to the home screen, you can organize and move them around to create your desired layout:

  1. Long-press on a widget until it starts jiggling.

  2. To move a widget, drag it to the desired location on the home screen.

  3. To rearrange widgets, you can drag and drop them into different positions or move them to different home screen pages by swiping left or right.

  4. To remove a widget, tap the "-" icon on the top left corner of the widget and confirm the removal.

By utilizing the widget size options, selecting and previewing widgets, and organizing them on the home screen, iOS 14 allows users to customize their device's interface and access relevant information or app functionality with ease.
